　　CalArts藝術留學申請包括的學部：

　　School of Critical Studies

　　CalArts這6個學部，第一個School of Critical Studies只有兩個專業(yè)，一個是creative writing，另一個是美學與政治。第二個是跳舞的...你們沒人想學吧？第三個是關注自然光線這號的孩子比較想學的，有這么四個專業(yè)，真相了：

　　放心，這個一會兒肯定講的。然后第四個第五個分別是音樂與戲劇，制作性質的專業(yè)與策劃／管理性質的專業(yè)都有。第六個是關于美國加州藝術學院電影專業(yè)的，這個下周四講，今天講School of Art的專業(yè)。

CalArts藝術留學申請專業(yè)介紹：

　　Program in Art：

　　Program in Art本科是BFA，四年，碩士是MFA，兩年，主要側重點是現當代的藝術，既有conventional的部分，也有非常前衛(wèi)的部分。

　　這個專業(yè)的介紹：Encompassing both studio practice and theory,the Program in Art offers instruction in a wide range of media,including painting,drawing,printmaking,photography,digital imaging,sculpture,installation,video,film,writing and performance.

　　CalArts這個專業(yè)其實就是個藝術的大雜燴，什么都學，幾乎囊括大部分主流的藝術媒介，并且實踐與理論并重。這是優(yōu)點其實也是缺點，優(yōu)點就是擴大視界，you'll know all you need to know about art。非常整體的把當代藝術搬到你的面前，于是，這也是它的缺點，學的太多，注定無法樣樣都做到深入（而且還有performance，真是夠全面......）。但注意哦：這是本科，本科階段有這樣打開視界的機會實屬難得。所以CalArts這個專業(yè)真的不錯，在本科階段大范圍的接觸，然后碩士階段選擇你最愛的，和它結婚。

　　就如加州藝術學院CalArts官方說的：The program does not require students to concentrate on a particular medium;instead,it relies on a flexible structure of individualized instruction and mentoring to emphasize the articulation of ideas,the development of working methodologies and the realization of independent studio work.

　　Graphic Design：

　　藝術留學申請Graphic Design專業(yè)，也是學士4年，碩士2年，但如果你的碩士選的是Graphic Design including a Specialization in Motion Graphics，就是3年。

　　專業(yè)介紹在這里：The Program in Graphic Design prepares its students for a wide range of professional options:print and publication design;web and interface design;motion graphics for broadcast and film;branding,identity and type design;as well as careers in design history and education.

　　藝術留學申請專業(yè)提供的選擇還是挺多的，印刷和出版方向的設計，網頁啊頁面啊這個方向的，動態(tài)的像是廣告啊電影啊這個方向的，以及比較標簽化的。當然，如果你想搞研究，或是想做設計相關的教育工作者，加州藝術學院CalArts也有你想要的。總之方向有的是，看你怎么選。

　　此外：The program emphasizes both practical and conceptual skills,and enables each designer to integrate a command of visual language with imagination,theory and technology.

　　就是說，雖然設計時隔很實踐的專業(yè)，很重作品的專業(yè)，但是CalArts的藝術留學申請，你也需要培養(yǎng)你的conceptual ability，會想，會有條理有系統(tǒng)的構思，也是教學的一大重點。

　　Photography and Media：

　　同上，學士4年，碩士2年。然后專業(yè)的介紹看完后，感覺加州藝術學院CalArts的攝影和紐約視覺藝術學院SVA、羅德島設計學院RISD、普瑞特藝術學院Pratt、帕森斯設計學院Parsons等這些以前寫過的，還挺不一樣的。

　　介紹如下：With its roots in still photography,the Program supports both graduate and undergraduate students in a broad range of media and approaches,including still and moving images,installation,new media,sound,performance and publication,all grounded in conversations about the histories of photography and media,the politics of representation,the changing role of cameras and photography in our daily lives,social documentary and activism.

　　作為一個攝影與媒體的交叉專業(yè)，它涵蓋著靜態(tài)圖像，動態(tài)圖像，裝置，新媒體，聲音藝術，依舊有performance...，還有攝影與媒體的一些歷史啊理論啊，還有politics of representation?這個有點迷...，還一些比較激進的東西。不過放心，這一些都是roots in photography，學啥，都是植根于攝影的，跑不偏。

　　Art and Technology：

　　這是個碩士專業(yè)，2年，感人的是，我終于找到了一個有課程設置的...CalArts的專業(yè)介紹確實詳細到秒殺很多院校官網，但是課程設置課可真難翻。

　　課程設置：The Program interrogates the relationship between technology and art by incorporating innovation,multiple disciplines and diverse cultures into the student’s creative process.

　　課程真相：主要是一個探討藝術與科技的專業(yè)，看看新的技術，新的媒介能給藝術能帶來什么樣的可能性。會涉及到一些黑科技，新材料什么的。

　　Program in Film and Video：

　　BFA以及MFA都有的，是兩個電影專業(yè)里比較基礎的那一個，專注于用電影來表達自己的想啊，The Program in Film and Video is designed for students who use film and video as media for personal expression and exploration—those artists for whom independent film and video is a calling and not simply a mode of production.CalArts的這個專業(yè)是為了讓學生們用影像的方式完成自我表達，完成自我的探索，發(fā)現自己的想法，并通過影像把自己所發(fā)現的展示出來。在加州藝術學院CalArts，電影不僅是視覺信息，不僅僅是產品，是工具，更多的，它是一個人思想的載體。

　　大部分學校的電影專業(yè)留學都比較重視制作，實踐操作一般都會占總學分的半數以上，但在加州藝術學院CalArts，film and video前兩年比較重視的，確是critical study。不是說技術能力不重要，你學電影的呀，這些當然是重中之重，但CalArts也同樣看重電影理論，比如，電影史，電影流派，以及一些文學知識。個人覺得這很對?。。。∮腥宋乃仞B(yǎng)的作品才是藝術品啊，有藝術價值文學價值的電影，國內現在，急缺。

　　這是官方原話：Critical studies classes are a vital part of the curriculum,especially during the first two years of the undergraduate program;and film and video artists are expected to know the histories and theoretical traditions of their chosen media,so that they can make fully informed artistic decisions during the development of their work.

　　Film Directing：

　　相比之下這個就比較專了，只有MFA，Master，專攻導演。一般的master都是兩年，而這個呢，是三年。The curriculum covers the fundamental aesthetic and technical components of film directing,with additional emphasis placed on screenwriting,acting,scene study,and critical thinking。官方講的很清楚，最基礎的是美學，以及基礎，還會適當的接觸一些劇本寫作，表演，分鏡啊，還有理論知識等等。

　　前兩個學期是classes in filmmaking fundamentals，每個學期結束都要出一個電影作品。之后四個學期呢，有6門導演課，兩個special topic，以及三門選修課，官方有特別說明，這個選修課要放眼整個加州藝術學院CalArts留學去選擇，不能拘于電影。

　　在有就是，FDP students must attend the ongoing Guest Artist Workshop。必須要參加藝術家工作坊，學校會不定期邀請藝術家來學校開講座啊，工作坊啊，這些，導演專業(yè)的學生是必須必須必須要出席。知道為什么嗎，因為通常情況下，學校請來的藝術家都是影視工作者什么的，最近就有請到演員Ed Harris，我特別喜歡的電影the hours里面他有演一個重要的角色，還請到了致命ID的導演，總之就是，強制你參加是為你好哦。

　　另外電影專業(yè)的長期合作伙伴：迪士尼，皮克斯，夢工廠，?？怂梗髂?.....

　　Theatre：

　　戲劇專業(yè)第一次寫，因為好像沒有太多童鞋藝術留學申請這個，但本著科普的心情，還是簡單寫一下。加州藝術學院CalArts的戲劇有單獨的一個學部，從戲劇導演專業(yè)，戲劇編劇專業(yè)，戲劇表演專業(yè)，到戲劇制作（燈光專業(yè)，舞美專業(yè)，服裝專業(yè)），一應俱全，特別吸引人喲。這些專業(yè)都是BFA,MFA都有的，性價比高一些的就是Theatre Technical Design，聲音控制，舞臺搭建，燈光設計，一臺劇的所有技術支持都會涉獵。

　　說到這個呢，偷偷科普一下，一場話劇中，除了最最重要的劇本，還有另外一個東西，名叫technical script，也叫prompt script，就是技術方面的劇本，演員的走位到哪時開什么燈進什么音樂，都在這個“技術劇本上”，演員需要劇本，其余工作人員呢，則需要這個“技術劇本”。
